Financial Planning and Analysis AVP

About the Company:

Our client is a boutique investment bank that focuses on Mergers and Acquisitions and Restructuring and they are seeking a Financial Planning and Analysis AVP to join their team.

Reporting to the VP of Finance & Accounting, the Financial Analyst will cover finance and accounting matters related to company expenses (IT expenses, professional fees, occupancy charges, travel expenses).   Responsibilities include capital and operating budget creation, PO and invoice vetting, and overall assistance with expense management. Analyst will manage departmental administrative functions including project code maintenance, vendor contract maintenance, and invoice approval / coding.


  • Establish monthly expense review process with VP of Finance & Accounting
  • Anticipate and address questions as a result of financial variances
  • Proactively advise management of cost concerns resulting from categorical spends
  • Create project CapEx and OpEx reporting and analysis
  • Support month end close financial activities such as IT expense accruals and corrections
  • Prepare and manage budget and forecast
  • Administration and maintenance of project codes and vendor contracts
  • Coordinate and review invoices for approval and project coding
  • Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time


  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related
  • 5 years of experience in accounting or financial analyst roles, preferably within IT departments
  •  Proficient in basic accounting concepts (e.g. accruals, reconciliations)
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally and with senior business leaders

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Base Salary up to $120,000
  • Bonus Target 20%
