Staff Property Accountant

About the Company:

Our client is one of the fastest-growing property management companies in the Metro Area. They are looking to hire a Staff Property Accountant who will assist in overseeing a portfolio of properties consisting of mixed-use residential, COOP, and Condo assets.



  • Various accounting functions to ensure the accuracy and generating of monthly financial reports by analyzing the general ledger, providing feedback through research, and address reconciling items to supervisors, property managers, and clients
  • Complete Bank, Escrow, Mortgage Reconciliations
  • Assist with Accounts Payable Vendor Processing and Payment
  • Prepare excel based work papers such as prepaid property tax, insurance, accruals, and supporting calculations
  • Prepared yearly and Fixed Assets, Deprecation and intangible, amortization schedules
  • Compile and generate month-end financial reports (Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cash flow Statement, etc. in Accrual and Cash basis)
  • Responsible for weekly cash management
  • Research and prepare budget variance reports and explanation narratives
  • Assist with Annual Budgeting
  • Review tenant accounts receivable activity
  • Assist with year-end activities and collaborate with external Auditors and Tax Accountant
  • Complete and file RPIEs, TC 201/3s, tax petitions, and other compliance regulated filings
  • Perform and complete special ad hoc projects



  • Minimum 1-2+ years Accounting Experience (preferably in real estate/property management)
  • BA in Accounting/Finance or alike
  • Excellent analytical, mathematical, and communication (oral and written) skills
  • Decision maker and ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Real Estate Industry Experience (Exposure to Residential, COOP, Condo and or Commercial full cycle Accounting)
  • CPA/Public Accounting Experience
  • Yardi Voyager, Advanced Excel
