Our client is a privately held, multi-entity infrastructure services platform operating across several U.S. markets. The organization specializes in civil construction, utility, and energy-related projects, with a strong track record of delivering complex, large-scale work. With a decentralized operating structure and multiple affiliated entities, the company offers a dynamic environment with significant leadership visibility and the opportunity to influence both strategic and operational outcomes.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the senior financial leader across a multi-entity, multi-state construction platform, partnering closely with ownership and executive leadership on strategic decision-making
- Oversee all accounting and financial reporting functions including monthly close, internal reporting, and the preparation of annual GAAP financial statements with full footnote disclosures
- Lead budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes including detailed project-level and company-wide variance analysis
- Manage relationships with banks, lenders, and surety/bonding partners including oversight of borrowing capacity, covenant compliance, and overall capital structure
- Provide leadership and oversight of tax strategy including multi-entity planning, projections, compliance, and coordination with external advisors
- Oversee and drive implementation of enterprise systems ensuring alignment across operating companies and improving financial visibility and reporting capabilities
- Lead and mentor a distributed accounting and finance teams across multiple operating entities nationwide
- Establish and enhance internal controls, policies, and procedures to support scalability, compliance, and operational efficiency
- Partner with operations leadership on project performance including WIP reporting, job costing, cash flow forecasting, and margin analysis
- Support M&A activity, including financial due diligence, integration planning, and post-transaction financial oversight
- Oversee treasury and cash management including liquidity planning, working capital optimization, and equipment financing strategies
- Act as a key liaison between the company and external stakeholders including auditors, tax advisors, financial institutions, and other partners
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting required
- 10-15 years of experience within a large-scale, multi-state civil, infrastructure, or utility services organization
- Comfortable operating in a hands-on environment
- Experience with CMiC or similar construction ERP systems preferred
- CPA and/or CCIFP designations a plus
- Experience managing teams across multiple locations and operating entities
- Strong experience managing the preparation of annual GAAP financial statements including footnotes
- Experience leading budgeting, forecasting, and monthly variance analysis processes
- M&A experience (acquisitions and/or dispositions) is a plus
Salary Range:
$250,000-$300,000 + bonus
