Vice President
About The Company
Our client is a private equity-backed holding company building a national platform of residential home standby generator businesses. Its buy-and-build strategy starts with established local companies that sell, install and service home standby generators. It then grows through add-on acquisitions in high-growth markets. The company currently operates in Oklahoma, Texas, Pennsylvania and New Jersey, with several more acquisitions in progress and a goal of doubling in size every year. This is a ground-floor chance to build the finance function of a fast-scaling platform. The role works directly with the CEO and the private equity sponsor and has a clear long-term path to CFO.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as the senior finance leader for a growing multi-site, multi-state home services platform, reporting directly to the CEO and working closely with the private equity sponsor
- Act as the hands-on controller for each operating business, standardizing accounting, finance, HR and compliance processes across all sites
- Own the monthly consolidated close including a standard chart of accounts with revenue split into install and service & maintenance agreements
- Oversee job costing for each install, customer deposits, deferred revenue on prepaid maintenance agreements, and equipment inventory
- Build and deliver site-level P&Ls and a weekly flash report covering installs sold and completed, backlog, service revenue and cash
- Lead budgeting and rolling forecasts including planning for seasonal and storm-driven demand swings
- Manage lender reporting, covenant compliance and relationships with banking and financing partners
- Manage manufacturer rebate, co-op and warranty receivables, as well as financing-partner dealer fees
- Oversee payroll, benefits and HR across all sites, including the PEO or benefits platform, handbook and policies, onboarding acquired employees, and commission and pay plans for sales
- Manage multi-state compliance including contractor licensing, permits and inspections, employment law, the insurance program and workers’ comp, OSHA and fleet safety, and sales and use tax
- Travel to operating sites as needed to set up new processes after acquisitions and check in periodically
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
- 10-15 years of accounting and finance experience
- Home services or field services experience strongly preferred
- Experience with job costing, WIP and customer deposit accounting preferred
- PE-backed roll-up, add-on acquisition and integration experience a plus
- Broad scope across accounting, FP&A, HR and compliance, or a willingness to own it all
- CPA a plus
Salary Range:
$200,000–$240,000
