About the Company:
Our client is an investment services platform and they are looking for a Senior Accountant that will support all Technical Accounting and SEC Reporting for the firm.
Responsibilities:
- Work with subsidiary Finance Directors and Controllers on revenue recognition and other complex matters
- Review initial and subsequent accounting for all Company acquisitions (including valuations) and dispositions
- Prepare goodwill and intangible asset impairment testing analysis and liaison with an external valuation firm
- Monitor the activities of all accounting standard setting bodies to determine the impact on the Company’s financial accounting and reporting practices
- Prepare quarter and annual financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements, including preparation of footnotes and draft MD&A disclosures
- Develop and support internal controls over the financial reporting process and significant transactions to ensure compliance with SOX
- Perform US GAAP and SEC accounting research, assist in providing technical guidance regarding implementation of new accounting standards, and communicate impact to stakeholders; review technical white papers prepared by subsidiaries
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting including public accounting experience
- Significant technical accounting experience in various topics is required – experience in an accounting advisory group is highly preferred
- Certified Public Accountant required
- Extensive knowledge of US GAAP and SEC rules and regulations
- Merger & acquisition experience a plus
Salary Range:
$145,000-$160,000
