Accounting Manager – Real Estate

About the Company:

Global alternative asset manager with approximately $500 billion of assets under management and more than a 100-year history, focusing on real estate, renewable power, infrastructure and private equity is seeking an Accounting Manager due to growth.

The Accounting Manager will sit on one of the firms most significant investment platforms.  This position will report directly to the Director of Accounting and will have the ability to build relationships with key contacts, including sector and regional finance leads across multiple offices.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and consolidate key information provided by subsidiaries for financials and notes preparation on an IFRS and proportionate basis, including but not limited to:
    • Quarter-over-quarter analysis;
    • Equity continuity and non-controlling interest reconciliations;
    • OCI and currency analysis; and
    • Cashflow and available liquidity
  • Manage the submission process for allocated investments, including:
    • Distributing and communicating financial reporting templates and timelines
    • Liaising with key contacts during the quarter to continually assess and address issues that may result in delays or inaccuracy of information
    • Assisting with training regional teams
  • Work with the Corporate accounting team to reconcile reported intercompany balances
  • Oversee the maintenance of the legal entity hierarchy within the consolidation system (HFM), working with the Financial Systems, Legal and Tax teams to review ownership changes and identifying the impact of these changes to the financial statements at various levels of consolidation
  • Review journal entries related to any required manual consolidation adjustments

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 4 years’ accounting experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS
  • CPA a Must
  • Experience managing multiple entities with complex structures
  • Experience working with consolidation systems, preferably HFM
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, complex, fast-paced environment, and balance multiple priorities

Compensation and Benefits:

  • $100,000 – $130,000 plus bonus
