About the Company:
Our client, a leading investment manager that specialized in real estate, is looking for an Assistant Controller. The ideal candidate has experience in Management Company Accounting, Partnership accounting and Tax.
Responsibilities:
Accounting & Financial Management (both for Management Company and Managed Funds)
- Developing sound fund controls to ensure time execution of Investor deliverables, lender deliverables, etc.)
- Policy / Procedure development & documentation
- Systems Integration / Implementation / Back Up
- Compliance
- Fund Closings
Transaction Support
- Support deal Closings
- Structuring / Entity Formation
- Deal Sources & Uses
- Ongoing Deal contribution and distribution tracking
- Lender Compliance (New worth /Liquidity covenant tracking and reporting)
- Interest Rate Hedging
Liquidity & Cash Management
- Cash forecasting & Liquidity Analysis
- Capital Calls / Distributions
- Fund Level Sources & Uses
- Coordinate all cash movements
- Subscription Facility Management
- Issuance of Letters of Credit
- Leverage calculation
Financial reporting
- Coordinate Quarterly and Year End Valuations and manage the Auditors
- Coordination with Fund Administrator for Fund Financials & PCAPs
- Contingent liability tracking and reporting
- Investor reporting
- Side letter compliance
- Waterfall calculation
Legal Entity Management
- Blocker formation / structuring / compliance / cash movements
- Tax elections
- Blocker capitalization
Tax & legal
- Liaising with Tax preparers on blocker distributions and associated withholding
- Coordinating tax returns and K1 prep (estimates and final)
- K1 distribution process
- Composite filing elections
- Liaising with legal counsel of formation of entities, LPA issues, New Fund development, Co-Investments etc.
Compliance
- Assist in the execution of compliance program that is in place for the Registered Investment advisor in coordination with CCO and third-party service provider
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree
- CPA is a plus
- 4 -8 years of experience in accounting & operations within the Asset Management industry, ideally with a focus on closed-end fund structures in the Real Estate sector
- Working with VBA is a plus
