Compensation Accountant

About the Company: 

Our client is a diversified financial services firm offering extensive services to its clients including investment banking, prime brokerage, sales and trading, equity and credit research, and more. The firm operates in over 35 cities nationally and internationally. This role will be part of the firm’s HR team.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Responsible for monthly and quarterly balance sheet and expense account reconciliations
  • Process monthly compensation entries including payroll, deferred compensation, and other compensation-based accruals
  • Generate management reports and compensation projections for multiple businesses
  • Responsible for monthly deferred compensation award reconciliation and expense review
  • Monitor and process deferred compensation vesting events; calculating tax obligation, interest accruals, dividend equivalent payout, and submitting approved payment requests to payroll

 

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of monthly-end close process and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Strong Analytical skills and highly proficient with Microsoft Excel including PivotTables and Macros

 

Salary Range: 

$120,000-$160,000
