With a focus on driving growth through data the Data Science Vice President will lead the strategic development and execution of data science initiatives, driving innovation, and leveraging advanced analytics to unlock actionable insights. Reporting directly to the executive leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping the company’s data strategy and driving the adoption of data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Responsibilities:
- Define and execute the company’s data science roadmap, identifying opportunities for leveraging data to drive business growth, improve operational efficiency, and enhance customer experience
- Partner closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, prioritize initiatives, and deliver impactful data-driven solutions
- Drive the development and implementation of advanced machine learning models and predictive analytic algorithms to solve complex business problems and drive actionable insights
- Establish best practices and standards for data science methodologies, tools, and processes ensuring the reliability, scalability, and maintainability of the data science infrastructure
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and artificial intelligence technologies, and evaluate their potential impact on our business and industry
- Collaborate with external partners to stay at the forefront of data science innovation and maintain a competitive advantage
- Lead and mentor a team of data scientists, providing guidance, coaching, and support to foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and innovation
Requirements:
- Advanced degree (Ph.D. or equivalent) in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or a related field
- 8-15 years of experience in developing and deploying advanced analytics and machine learning solutions
- Deep expertise in machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, and data mining techniques
- Hands-on experience in Python, R, or similar programming languages.
- Ability to translate data insights into actionable recommendations
- Ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and influence decision-making at all levels of the organization
- Experience in the fintech industry or financial services sector is preferred
- Strong understanding of financial products, markets, and regulatory requirements
