Fund Accountant – Private Equity

About the Company:

Our client, a $500M boutique private equity firm with a global opportunistic investment strategy, is seeking to hire a Financial Analyst to work directly for the CFO.  This hire will have a fast-track opportunity to be promoted to Controller and will be responsibility for every non-investment activity of the fund including fund accounting, investor relations, fund operations, valuations, management company and tax.  This position will allow this hire to learn the ins and outs of how a private equity funds works within his or her first year.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with quarterly financial statement close process
  • Assist with the annual financial statement audit
  • Assist with tax reporting, including K-1 preparation and review (including notices that come on an ad-hoc basis)
  • Monitor expense budgets, allocations and accruals
  • Perform valuation of private investments
  • Assist team members in responding to investor requests
  • Perform ongoing management company accounting functions
  • Identify weaknesses and inefficiencies in existing processes and provide recommendations for improvement

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
  • 2-5 years of experience in public accounting, fund administration or out of a direct fund
  • Knowledge of private equity fund accounting and/or management company
  • CPA a plus but not required
  • Ability to learn fast and passion for private equity

Compensation & Benefits:

  • $80,000-$95,000 Base Salary
