Internal Audit Manager

 About the Company:

Our client, an asset management firm with over $300 billion AUM, is looking for a Manager to join the Internal Audit department. The Manager will ensure that all audits are risk-based, completed in accordance with the standards of the Institute of Internal Auditors, and achieves the audit objectives.

Responsibilities:

  • Leading engagements from beginning to end, inclusive of the development of risk-based audit plans and test procedures, execution of test procedures, and the review and reporting of findings to the Director
  • Conducting senior management meetings and articulating findings and proposed recommendations concisely and in a meaningful way to the business
  • Maintaining departmental standards and enhancing the quality of audit engagements in line with the documented audit procedures (included in the Audit Manual) and the IIA Standards
  • Leading follow-up procedures to determine the implementation of key recommendations and assess the adequacy of corrective actions
  • Building strong professional relationships with firm and business unit management through providing a value-added service
  • Writing concise audit reports that clearly articulate issues raised and evaluate the impact on the business
  • Managing and overseeing auditors’ performance, providing training and development opportunities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field
  • CPA preferred, desirable qualifications: Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Investment and Derivatives Auditor (CIDA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE);
  • Experience in Property, Private Equity and/or Hedge Fund sectors- SOX, highly preferred
  • A minimum of 6-8 years of experience with a public accounting firm and/or corporate industry experience with emphasis on financial and accounting applications and financial and operational controls
