Real Estate Controller

About the Company:
Our client is a global investment manager specializing in liquid real assets within real estate, infrastructure, and natural resource equities. The Real Estate Controller will provide oversight for accounting, administration, treasury, regulatory reporting, and third-party service providers for private equity funds.
Responsibilities:
- Oversight of third-party administrators and middle/back office service providers, who are responsible for the reporting of position valuations and performance, reconciliation of cash and the calculation of month-end and quarter-end net assets
- Ensure that all investments are accounted for in accordance with US GAAP and other local accounting requirements
- Oversee month-end & quarter-end accounting, valuation, and financial reporting for the limited partnerships
- Conduct technical accounting research and ensure appropriate application to investments
- Prepare and/or review management fee, incentive calculations Waterfall and claw back calculations in accordance with agreements
- Manage investor reporting and requests including capital calls, distributions, and reporting
- Assist in the review and preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and partner capital packages including all supporting work papers and disclosure documents with the assistance of third-party administrator
- Assist in the planning of new funds and product types to ensure that operational efficiency
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
- 8-10 years of experience in the investment management business
- Significant experience in private equity accounting, management fee calculations, waterfall calculations
- Big 4 public accounting experience and CPA preferred
Salary Range:
$300,000-$350,000
