Tax Associate

About the Company:
Our client is an investment advisor with over $25 billion in AUM with a focus on strategies in distressed debt, long/short credit, private credit, and capital structure arbitrage. The Tax Associate will be involved in all aspects of tax compliance, strategy, and risk management and will have dual involvement in both the private funds and the management company.
Responsibilities:
- Review and prepare work papers, tax returns, K-1s, informational filings, and notices for all fund entities and SPVs
- Prepare periodic funds tax estimates, foreign tax accruals, corporate tax accruals, and other ad hoc informational requests
- Prepare or review calculations and documentation for various types of reporting including ASC 740 and international transfer pricing
- Research, shape, and document tax policies and procedures for new fund strategies and investment types
- Create and maintain organizational work papers such as calendars and structure charts
- Prepare, coordinate, and file relevant initial and recurring non-tax return filings
- Research and assist on tax treatment for corporate restructurings and add-on investments
- Assist in filing Form 1099 and maintenance of W-9 tracking
- Review foreign sub advisor tax returns and transfer pricing
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required
- 2-5 years of asset management tax experience
- Big 4 experience a plus
- Knowledge of credit funds and their relevant tax issues a plus
- CPA required
Salary Range:
$150,000-$175,000
